Privacy Policy
This page explains what information we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
When you submit a review, we store the category, comment, and optional name you provide. We do not require an account or collect personal contact details.
IP addresses
We store a one-way hash of your IP address for a short time to prevent spam submissions. We never display or share this hash, and it cannot be reversed back into your original IP address.
Phone & call log access (Android app)
If you enable Caller ID in the Android app, it uses the phone-state and call-log permissions to detect an incoming call and read your recent calls so it can show a category badge. The phone number involved is sent to our server for a lookup — the same lookup you'd get from a manual search. We do not upload your call history (who you called, when, or for how long); only the number being looked up leaves your device, and only while the feature is enabled. You can disable Caller ID at any time from the app's Settings tab, which stops call-log access immediately.
"Display over other apps" permission
This permission only lets the app draw the small caller-ID card on your screen during a call. It does not grant access to anything else on your device.
We don't sell your data, show ads, or require an account to use NumberCheck.
